CASE STUDY - anonymous client interview
1.How are you and what did you need RTT for?
Answer: I am a corporate employee at a global company who suffered from extreme anxiety and mild depression for more than 1 yr. I went through a divorce and after starting my new life as a single parent I started feeling extremely worried and anxious not only because of my divorce but about my expectations of my life ahead. I saw myself starting a whole new life and although it was exciting at times it was also excessively overwhelming.
2. Before you knew about Marisa Peer and RTT, what did your life look like?
Answer: I was extremely anxious and stressed, for many years I couldn’t sleep a full night without waking up 1-2 times, had intrusive thoughts all the time, excess worrying, felt an empty feeling in my gut, often felt angry, frustrated and defensive in stressful situations, it was very hard to be present, thought /lived in the past a lot, lots of fears about the future and my kids, I was either extremely tired.
3. At what point did you know that you needed to change?
Answer: I felt desperate after months passed by and didn't see improvement after having done other therapies for over 1 year. One time I hardly slept for 1 week so got very worried about my physical and mental health. I had a hard time concentrating, felt extremely tired and highly irritable all the time. I also started having migraines, shortness of breath, lack of balance and motion sickness so had limitations with some physical activities.
4. Did you have any limiting beliefs or reservations about RTT and what made you overcome that? (money, time, works for me/different, risk, discomfort, …)
Answer: I felt that my anxiety was very hard to overcome after having done traditional therapy and an alternative therapy with limited results. However, those therapies helped me realized that I have always lived with anxiety but had found unhealthy ways to manage it. After I turned 50 my anxiety level reached an all-time high, and I couldn’t cope with it anymore. I also experience mild depression. RTT helped me to feel better faster. RTT allowed me to understand the root cause of my issues and the limited beliefs that I have formed, which guided my thoughts and behavior. After doing 3 RTT sessions I was able to come out of the darkness and see the light – it gave me hope of a brighter and better life.
5. If you were to recommend RTT to your best friend who is still on the fence what would you say?
Answer: It's worth investing in yourself and not allowing any more time pass with overwhelming emotions and physical symptoms that you can't manage. Living with these symptoms is a real ordeal. Time is precious; so the quicker you find help, the sooner you will feel better and move on with your life - the life that you deserve and wish to have. It's never too late to change how we think, feel and behave. RTT can make this possible for you, give it a try, you won't regret it. RTT can help you in your personal life and perform better when it comes to your professional goals.
6. Overall, what has RTT done for you?
Answer: RTT has given me another chance to live the life that I always wanted to live. I feel more present, have more self-awareness, I feel alive! My RTT Therapist also taught me how to shift out of negative thoughts by understanding how the mind works. Daily life challenges are easier to handle now. I have better coping skills and a completely different mindset. My intrusive thoughts are gone. I have finally been able to sleep much better so feel more energetic and motivated. My migraines and shortness of breath are gone.
